Herndon, PA, Wedding | Keith & Katia | June 16, 2018
I was a mere junior in high school taking a class at Lancaster Bible College when I met Katia. In typical first-day-of-class fashion, we were going around the room answering, “Where are you from?” or “What is your major?” when I heard Katia’s hometown.
My mom grew up where she did, and NO ONE knows where it is, so that’s why I was surprised. Turns out, Katia knows my grandparents and much of my extended family. It was incredibly comforting to have someone I knew in this early college class and to bond over our shared geography.
That’s where Katia and I start, so when she texted me that she was engaged and was interested in me photographing her wedding, I was absolutely thrilled.
Keith and Katia had a perfectly sunny wedding day in the woods. Throughout the post you’ll find just a few short notes that explain some of the moments of the day. Thank you, Keith and Katia, for entrusting me with your wedding day. It was an honor.

Folks, this is Katia’s family farm backyard views. Just wow.
This cake!!! I naturally gravitate toward capturing details, but what made these details so special was that my grandmother, who has a cake business, made Keith & Katia’s cake. It was beautiful to see my grandmother’s work in this setting.
Katia’s two sisters gave speeches at the reception. Their love for the sister and Keith was so apparent that it spilled out of their eyes. In turn, I had tears as well because it made me think of my own sister and the emotions from this changing relationship. These candid moments might be my personal favorite from their wedding. I love me a good cry! :)
